% h: G2 b% s3 G2 gYOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
% W' U- C: p6 E" [3 g7 P% |  Rpeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
% t! E, N2 p) f6 a& ^0 yThe YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

( b' M" f2 {* V! W, U+ n) w7 e7 wproject that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
: v* X- S2 }/ o. w% EThe goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
the skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
Additionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
follow-up once the program is completed.

Verto project will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the
YOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
