Job Responsibilities:

• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired) h( E4 F# T3 \7 E D
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll( E& i% K& c& \4 f. Q3 R k
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
u) {( s) K) L, \5 P) z• Input benefit deductions into payroll% w: U" M$ `$ p. p0 N
3 v/ h8 b8 o( vReporting duties:& l7 _( P# d1 C! C4 ]) X( P8 j
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider& z$ G2 z3 }: }: v' d; P) N) W$ J9 @
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website7 {7 ^2 t/ G. y( Y1 t
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s Z5 [, d$ ~+ T6 p! A: r
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority6 U& d1 N q/ z- I2 R5 }
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
/ h( J8 e" p0 {2 ~• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
' Z! N7 i- y/ C0 @ l' _• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
6 Y% I; l5 u+ v2 {6 q1 G• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting/ v* i. ] x5 b. s

• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit+ Z1 @% n+ x" g+ F2 R9 {( D/ s3 i
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
1 v; V; i; Y( v& I# n o1 W! I+ t• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments& l( \3 W* B( ~! R7 m
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:; v; x9 x9 {/ v8 [
$ z1 |0 v0 g( g' A3 |! q
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
8 n" b6 e% m- M1 t# n• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association3 N/ Y3 w# U% w1 o
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
& H) f' _- E' X8 T) y% B: b0 \• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
