YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. ) _# _; {$ N) w7 H9 x& P
Job Responsibilities:

Payroll:
+ }" \) w5 w& W' } S3 e. M• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
1 N, V% e; i' h! g/ H• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
7 k# B1 N! ~, V. Q9 D; \0 _7 K• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
% B6 c7 Y# l, z• Input benefit deductions into payroll

+ [- \* U0 S6 X* S* IReporting duties:
9 m" s2 v3 t3 Q9 S7 `( a4 `• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider! c. W9 h5 M8 ]8 c' J) \9 ~
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website# m' p9 ]- e, x1 X8 J5 e8 X6 y
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s w4 O) O. ^. P' a5 ?) B! R9 q
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority

Compliance:
' F' J' e' F, ~# S) d• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
+ X: ^- P0 z; S A' o, r1 A7 F• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
- G3 \: w7 h6 A, C; D; E% k7 C• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies) o+ J# k" x: i7 f Q) Q1 j% k
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

Accounts Receivable:
* F6 z$ l3 C! {4 w1 d+ \6 m• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit* q6 B7 V' r1 v8 i- ~& y$ d* }
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
, W6 v# }% L; q+ ~5 }" Q/ |, Q( y• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments$ x5 [5 K x/ g
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

+ A& K3 V/ y( Y; ~6 X/ {Qualifications:
2 X% a$ e+ J6 p) @7 j, y) o: C8 d6 ^/ I( o0 _+ b& J
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
* Y: \0 G0 [7 O- h1 r• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association4 J9 o4 S/ E, ^8 X
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
- c" K! T3 h: H• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
+ }! d7 ~/ Y2 }/ H7 @+ M• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work" K! A- a) v* L' c4 |" H
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure1 p( W5 Y, _! k. U& Y r
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures. s I; s, q6 Q) s0 Q# i
