/ s4 e% ~; L2 jIn March 2008, I was in NY watching TV coverage on US president election. O got 95% (if not higher) of the votes from African Americans. Nothing was discussed about this so obvious racial stuff. I asked a couple americans why. I was told that if someone was openly discussing that issue, he/she would be criticized as racism.

5 J* {% `- d2 WSomeone questioned if Mar would do anything favour to Chinese communities if he got elected. Did you ask yourself: If he, who came to us for supports, won't, who will? The other two candidates? At the same time, why should we always look for returns from a little help we give? , s' }7 _) `' w0 R9 h. w7 r
4 A. ]: z1 E* \! D$ G% oBesides, Redford promised 100M for our education programs and other spending. Should we ask where the money will come from? From a cut to other programs or an increase to our income tax? I guess the answer is the latter. Why? Alberta government was running with deficits in the last few years due to the financial crisis in the US (oh, yah, the whole world). If the economy does not get better, more spending probably can only come from our pockets. |
