Job Title: Product Technology Manager, Lab Equipment         Date: October 13, 2011% v9 N  ?$ y  f2 i

Scope and Purpose of Job
2 X0 X1 s* {9 c4 CEmployee would be responsible for handling all technical support for Lab Equipment systems (both hardware & software), to include lab testing & dyeing, dispensing, sample conditioning, and lighting cabinets. Work as the technical liaison with 3rd party suppliers.  Work very closely with Product Manager on new product development for all laboratory equipment.
; b0 a0 u( T& n7 jMajor Responsibilities and Accountabilities
2 A3 J0 k, q; f: f2 t% g" J•        Be the global primary contact for support for Lab Equipment Systems and liaise with 3rd party supplier on any issues.7 Y* d4 E+ [7 X. @0 o  e; o( K
•        Answering all technical questions concerning mechanical functions and software operations.
8 j# R, [) a7 d- g- G0 y•        Assist with troubleshooting ideas on technical and software problems: c# ?! ?$ G  |: P/ M
o        Test all new patch versions of software prior to release
. n6 L# i$ F) D) L4 F9 h7 c* C) E•        Assist where needed in application questions.5 C% ]/ K3 Y- c8 u# `$ \
•        Check all technical documentation for correctness prior to field distribution.2 d" g" x5 l8 m3 H; m$ C
o        New parts and replacement parts and installation procedures
1 S8 D, w* Y$ No        Translation to Chinese and other languages if needed' ~8 ~' n. _3 K" S' I/ C
•        Track and report all warranty failures
; J8 q4 P. }8 U! G1 V4 {o        Make monthly report to Product Manager and 3rd party supplier.
" M" \! l! y+ do        Recommend remedy to improve product quality and design.7 B0 I  O$ t2 j- i
•        Assist Product Manager in all new product development plans for all Lab Equipment products.  In some cases act as the Project Manager for new product development.5 R8 s. n9 f* M) [( Q
o        Run field Beta test sites and any new idea testing and make reports/ g$ N% y/ C  ]. d8 I
o        Assist in information gather for any new product idea.+ t4 X4 l) |, ?" b$ Z6 x
o        Assist in writing and new product specification! x$ m5 \$ d( H3 x- n, f) `
o        Point of expert contact for implementation of features/functions.* W" ^; h  {* o
o        Act as technical applications expert on development team.4 t. O; D" A( ^0 V- k/ ?4 K, a
•        Assist in Sales support & training.
8 s$ R: L6 F* a' p/ g$ Q•        Responsible for any technical training needed for products, either given by the supplier or actually give the training in person.  To use both Web-based and on-site training tools.
6 w& ^4 t6 K2 Ko        In rare cases where no other solution exist to travel to customer site to solve technical issues.

List of Skills/Qualifications       
# _! F" t$ G+ B6 q, i4 R•        Must have an extensive background in textile laboratory equipment uses and workflow process.  Understanding of textile dyeing processes.( ]8 K: i' l/ m
•        Background knowledge of dispensers and software
* D) \5 z7 b* y9 ~7 X% z6 ?  D•        Proficient in software use and writing.
% R0 G: z# \! w) a3 ~) n•        Excellent communicator both verbally and in written reports.
