Job Title: Product Technology Manager, Lab Equipment         Date: October 13, 2011

Scope and Purpose of Job
' X" q% [% c+ u: S/ O+ ]Employee would be responsible for handling all technical support for Lab Equipment systems (both hardware & software), to include lab testing & dyeing, dispensing, sample conditioning, and lighting cabinets. Work as the technical liaison with 3rd party suppliers.  Work very closely with Product Manager on new product development for all laboratory equipment.
* k# a1 @* K! h4 TMajor Responsibilities and Accountabilities
•        Be the global primary contact for support for Lab Equipment Systems and liaise with 3rd party supplier on any issues.
# z7 Z7 ]! i6 g3 M* x  u" u•        Answering all technical questions concerning mechanical functions and software operations.
•        Assist with troubleshooting ideas on technical and software problems
, t8 m9 d3 I$ M! A5 bo        Test all new patch versions of software prior to release
6 c0 P$ k" o5 Y& T  d- q( H•        Assist where needed in application questions.
; k5 Y) L% e1 p& U•        Check all technical documentation for correctness prior to field distribution.
6 }$ G, b5 i& l' o8 co        New parts and replacement parts and installation procedures
o        Translation to Chinese and other languages if needed
•        Track and report all warranty failures
o        Make monthly report to Product Manager and 3rd party supplier.
o        Recommend remedy to improve product quality and design.
•        Assist Product Manager in all new product development plans for all Lab Equipment products.  In some cases act as the Project Manager for new product development.
) r( Z5 x' v6 F& p$ ao        Run field Beta test sites and any new idea testing and make reports
o        Assist in information gather for any new product idea.

o        Point of expert contact for implementation of features/functions.
o        Act as technical applications expert on development team.
•        Assist in Sales support & training.
•        Responsible for any technical training needed for products, either given by the supplier or actually give the training in person.  To use both Web-based and on-site training tools.
, {+ }# w  x% wo        In rare cases where no other solution exist to travel to customer site to solve technical issues.

$ V& [; |3 @/ ?; q•        Must have an extensive background in textile laboratory equipment uses and workflow process.  Understanding of textile dyeing processes.

•        Excellent communicator both verbally and in written reports.
