Job Title: Product Technology Manager, Lab Equipment         Date: October 13, 2011

Scope and Purpose of Job
Employee would be responsible for handling all technical support for Lab Equipment systems (both hardware & software), to include lab testing & dyeing, dispensing, sample conditioning, and lighting cabinets. Work as the technical liaison with 3rd party suppliers.  Work very closely with Product Manager on new product development for all laboratory equipment.
, o7 X- {# n& I, Z0 `8 Z" QMajor Responsibilities and Accountabilities
•        Be the global primary contact for support for Lab Equipment Systems and liaise with 3rd party supplier on any issues.
•        Answering all technical questions concerning mechanical functions and software operations.
•        Assist with troubleshooting ideas on technical and software problems
  E1 m5 G/ O- U- r' U% U9 zo        Test all new patch versions of software prior to release
•        Assist where needed in application questions.
•        Check all technical documentation for correctness prior to field distribution.
o        New parts and replacement parts and installation procedures
) ^. B9 \( @& M, ao        Translation to Chinese and other languages if needed
/ |1 q  ~* d4 {. h4 e  L% e9 q4 |/ F•        Track and report all warranty failures
o        Make monthly report to Product Manager and 3rd party supplier.
: V& p, w$ t. C- Q- ?o        Recommend remedy to improve product quality and design.
•        Assist Product Manager in all new product development plans for all Lab Equipment products.  In some cases act as the Project Manager for new product development.
$ a/ O9 u) P1 Zo        Run field Beta test sites and any new idea testing and make reports
* y) l# @8 Q$ G9 _% oo        Assist in information gather for any new product idea.
. S: _5 U" H! d! d, ?$ j: qo        Assist in writing and new product specification
o        Point of expert contact for implementation of features/functions.
o        Act as technical applications expert on development team.
# t' D5 Q" e0 u; D) d- q% s, x•        Assist in Sales support & training.
•        Responsible for any technical training needed for products, either given by the supplier or actually give the training in person.  To use both Web-based and on-site training tools.
o        In rare cases where no other solution exist to travel to customer site to solve technical issues.

List of Skills/Qualifications       
8 u4 {# O8 l) a' y4 \* S9 k& K•        Must have an extensive background in textile laboratory equipment uses and workflow process.  Understanding of textile dyeing processes.
•        Background knowledge of dispensers and software
•        Proficient in software use and writing.
•        Excellent communicator both verbally and in written reports.
•        Ability to travel worldwide.
