Job Title: Product Technology Manager, Lab Equipment         Date: October 13, 2011* ?' Z$ l6 U% l9 J* H

Scope and Purpose of Job& }6 u4 t" U6 v1 P6 I8 D
Employee would be responsible for handling all technical support for Lab Equipment systems (both hardware & software), to include lab testing & dyeing, dispensing, sample conditioning, and lighting cabinets. Work as the technical liaison with 3rd party suppliers.  Work very closely with Product Manager on new product development for all laboratory equipment.8 f3 h$ i* U0 F1 }
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities" K$ b+ l& _) H6 ^; u
•        Be the global primary contact for support for Lab Equipment Systems and liaise with 3rd party supplier on any issues., J4 X# z6 |$ L* b
•        Answering all technical questions concerning mechanical functions and software operations.+ Q3 Z9 z; f( W' P6 w" x
•        Assist with troubleshooting ideas on technical and software problems5 _9 I8 S: L4 F' e" S  A
o        Test all new patch versions of software prior to release
- m  B/ \% w! ]•        Assist where needed in application questions.+ w  J; s- I4 j
•        Check all technical documentation for correctness prior to field distribution.  t. C1 f" {' y- d
o        New parts and replacement parts and installation procedures
5 u' e# ^2 z- ?% ], g( Q$ k/ Q0 I: n, K1 To        Translation to Chinese and other languages if needed
$ N! k/ {9 `! I$ B* b0 n•        Track and report all warranty failures9 ^/ D3 Z& G! b$ U; D0 n* {. \) ]
o        Make monthly report to Product Manager and 3rd party supplier.
. I% s$ J" C0 A+ L) Yo        Recommend remedy to improve product quality and design.
- e9 J0 l4 D  G& b•        Assist Product Manager in all new product development plans for all Lab Equipment products.  In some cases act as the Project Manager for new product development.* J3 L# B7 F& A
o        Run field Beta test sites and any new idea testing and make reports
) X8 T1 q1 K4 v7 Z- zo        Assist in information gather for any new product idea.
( @, c& g* g* A: q6 i* t+ N* u. Zo        Assist in writing and new product specification. E# x( X2 f8 g3 L
o        Point of expert contact for implementation of features/functions.
# z$ }* f# o- Bo        Act as technical applications expert on development team.( ], u# i* w2 v
•        Assist in Sales support & training.: X; m! D0 ]- y# E" o
•        Responsible for any technical training needed for products, either given by the supplier or actually give the training in person.  To use both Web-based and on-site training tools.) z3 W( Y: [0 H
o        In rare cases where no other solution exist to travel to customer site to solve technical issues.7 r: b3 g8 o1 T; Q! B

Professional Experience (Years and Field of Activity)       
" h  h4 q+ A( g; k" Q7 ~. W( y" V' h5+ years working as technical specialist for textile laboratory equipment. Expereince with textile laboratory dispensers2 `8 L4 M. k" g8 A! r* i1 D
List of Skills/Qualifications       
- h5 g: [4 C/ W; D! m2 z•        Must have an extensive background in textile laboratory equipment uses and workflow process.  Understanding of textile dyeing processes.
- u4 H) @9 t; K% R•        Background knowledge of dispensers and software 1 v  m6 w& g  U. q
•        Proficient in software use and writing., z: }* h! X, W& G1 ^, F) D- A
•        Excellent communicator both verbally and in written reports." ~; j+ J* `$ {
•        Ability to travel worldwide.
