- i2 l. I4 b% K' EYour rating: Your rating: Hated it EPCOR service is the worst one in the world! My power was shutdown by Direct Energy (the contract for my power supply) by mistake, then Direct Energy can not provide the short time service (24 days), asked me to contact EPCOR. EPCOR told me that it will charger service fee (not power payment) to install the power supply (Note: I have had an EPCOR account), there are two options: pay over $100 for emergency service to get the power within 48 hours, or pay over $40 for regular service to get power within 5 days. Since our family needs power to live, then I agreed to pay over $100 for emergency service. EPCOR told me that I had to waite at home during that 48 hours. Both my wife and I have to work, I asked whether EPCOR could give me a time frame such that I could wait at home during that time period, then we still can go to work with more time. EPCOR said: No, since their service people do not have working time schedule, and they do not carry phone ( BTW, at today's information age, how can EPCOR service equipment is still so poor?). We waited for two days (I had to ask for leave absence from my job for 11 hours), there was no service staff to come. When I phoned EPCOR Custerm Service (310-4300), this phone was/is difficult to get on, and finanlly got on, I was told to call Emergency service after 4:30PM (I called around 9:00PM), a person called as Jeanny (?) answered my phone, without letting me finish my talking, she said "Phone 310-4300 tomorrow" then to shutdowm my phone. When I phoned again to ask why Jeanny shutdown my phone, Jeanny picked up my call, and immediately shutdown my phone. I never got such treatment, and was very angry. Late, I heard from my freind who had the same experience. I also heard from other people EPCOR did for one reason: I used its competitor Direct Energy, EPCOR gave me the penalty. Some people also told me: EPCOR is the city goverment business, that's why it does not care about people. From now, I will ask all of people I know, to require City of Edmonton force EPCOR to change its business attitude, to respect people. Meanwhile, I wish to have more companies in the service, more competition will be much better for us - common residents and tax payers.

; J# ?. v* N. X6 D$ Z% FMy case was similar to that of Jiazai. Where my power was also shutdown by Direct Energy and I was also told to contact Epcor for help. The lady that I had talked to on the phone was very rude. I was briefly mentioned about an emergency service for 100$. However, when I questioned more about this "emergency service", the lady responded saying that my situation was not considered an emergency" and had hung up on me. I thought that maybe the call got dropped, and so called back. The same lady picked up the phone, and just when I started questioning about the "emergency service" again, she hung up again! I don't understand how they can be so impatient and rude. All I wanted to do was to gain a deeper understanding about this emergency service and perhaps learn of other options that can help me resolve this issue. Very very poor customer service. |
