/ l' ] B* K; |( F• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed1 d. N- p0 @0 ]. k
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components; o: [1 w& \* r5 n! y' m$ {
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers% b& T) D; C* W0 |) S& X) A8 k
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
) d' a; _# F7 M- R/ u8 F5 k• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
8 ~! ]- T4 M7 i• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment. Y$ s6 Z i$ D# ]+ f
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools3 ?7 d* u# O6 E& {* `
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting6 V( j7 Z9 M2 ?7 y/ E
• Mix paint, blend and match colors
9 U! v6 P3 d$ `4 i2 T& H3 @• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
: k& v' X/ _5 D4 j• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs; u! Q1 A3 {( S* N
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation

Education and Experience Requirements:* O0 I* m; t& u
• Completion of secondary school is required* \9 c, H/ w, C# ]0 a
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program
' W( P, C6 W1 G$ Dor
9 q8 b1 P; f% O6 e( {$ dA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade 7 N2 y5 Z& {9 l
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
