Job Description:
) C0 ^ @0 D; ^, B' s5 A• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed2 F* K, X5 N+ k6 `0 M% w
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components" Z( w6 k* o) l! v
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
( C$ Q7 w% F: ]' U. f• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams" e8 X Q7 \0 |0 J+ l5 x& |+ p
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
|5 K# N- Q8 X3 x& {& m• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment4 C: z$ l) e9 u. r" H7 i9 q" H' a9 {
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools' |) b) B! M' P" }
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting K4 ~2 ]8 Q0 @. }
• Mix paint, blend and match colors: H% Q6 R5 Q5 D* t
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
4 \$ y$ ~- H- h7 C" z6 g• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
3 H' M6 P$ u r4 d• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation
+ l* k% `. I" Q: E• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of secondary school is required
5 J" C5 Q# A& S6 J• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program
6 Y' `. A* L+ g, F& n; ~0 |1 k+ Wor
( }9 O4 }* V" R% O2 MA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
( r# L s { A: x7 p+ j& R8 t- g• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory - r$ p: T# M, [* U7 e$ w
