• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
; E9 H5 K6 Y* J" s8 L; e• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components: ?. S2 D0 e$ _! t& f
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
) B" S: ^% W! Y5 f/ `- H• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams: |4 h1 G G' s$ I5 L% p% B
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place9 O2 d6 c! H2 B1 _
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
3 {7 `2 F' X0 _& Y( @# N5 S6 S• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
& k; J1 A0 M( B* X% c• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting

• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns6 I6 M/ w9 H6 w m" j7 ]
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
% e' W" a) S* ~8 O4 {+ M• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation

Education and Experience Requirements: V2 d- s5 d$ b& C
• Completion of secondary school is required8 b7 y6 W4 z2 \& W
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program
; e7 V; c# {/ _" sor
! H( V+ \: C- T6 s: f1 TA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade 9 \* D; H: h7 c* K3 W7 M
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
