In general, key aspects of the role are:
-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
4 x3 L. h! R( m# Z7 Qtechnology;
-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
5 M$ S6 X, K$ I: ^4 h) B$ T-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
-        Participate in peer reviews;
-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
-        Programming planned enhancements;
-        Testing system changes;
  b+ ]' n; o. [; z7 W5 y-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
$ ?+ Z/ U' S6 i# }8 j6 ^) edepartment’s change management processes;
-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
-        Lead short term projects;
, s; T9 _, C5 ]  L- p1 C-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
-        Excellent written communication skills;
-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
& s2 x  V8 U/ beffective delivery of service; and
-        Understanding of project management.

A. Mandatory Requirements
, t- ]* p' j* n' ]8 f6 f(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
for incorporating new technology.

(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)
) ^: }8 U# S5 y- z$ j2 x
4 @3 m# a8 l: X9 b$ T5 [* M1 _(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

# M- G! c& _- L8 M(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

7 {& [6 q6 L/ N' a(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:

- Crystal Reports
- Pdflib
- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

8 v# R$ Q+ a; m' k0 U0 G- D7 q(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
