Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

0 w4 {/ p4 T6 _5 }0 F8 w" k• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
$ N" ?' h" A1 F6 `9 T3 u5 a• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST9 T! _, w) a* l' e2 N2 ?
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately8 ~/ K2 j5 L/ o( t1 }; v, s# B
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter! Y' T6 v1 e( s- q* o! E
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
" |: H* ]3 R) D• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker

• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events$ i9 T/ z0 z) c
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean9 v! c& |# e* j- y
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters" J$ |0 ^( L0 v$ n5 V* {9 p3 n5 b$ j+ P, i
• Maintain front counter service files5 U5 M4 I4 l' x2 ?9 h
• Perform general office duties as assigned+ _, Y7 g/ g/ n; h

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
7 Y' L6 T9 K* N; p! K4 S: w• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person8 I6 U: ]3 y: F6 v- o
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
9 n4 r, @7 }0 x& c; w. M0 W• Good English writing and oral communication skills
S' T+ O5 @' ^+ g, x$ u• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
- V+ a. A. l' L• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook2 l) `& T1 u) z* {! y% o1 _, C
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately ! }& T1 i' x8 w6 b. T
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

Qualifications:; |9 B" R* P# k: @! g) E6 Y% P
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience 6 E& ]* I# U' p
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
6 h0 @' @; h" }# i2 F• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
/ K7 m5 h2 _0 v$ h; q! K# x8 R• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
