Key Responsibilities
/ e: t4 D+ @/ T/ P# k- submit information for community news
, k- E% h( I; w) \( n2 u4 L6 ~- provide volunteers to update membership database8 T( V/ i' ?% g0 w$ E
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
/ c5 [) D6 P* u5 V/ v- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties# Q: e' ^. J3 C
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
/ M9 M/ `+ f0 K2 S% C. N5 R, z$ f+ J- provide volunteers for various programs & `# k* o7 u, i) R/ W
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual0 g- d, X3 {9 N& C N
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
6 b0 K2 D/ F7 z1 ?0 b- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
% O* F6 d/ P4 J- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services: h2 i( P& i6 Q& S$ F; Y" g
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports" b. J: p8 h/ @8 h4 R
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
8 M+ w: _4 I6 c; r8 r# a6 G- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed/ h$ @8 b1 ?- ~! ~, a6 ~
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
+ P+ p1 r8 W5 _- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
( @# @! w3 J8 P, {6 f4 x% k4 d- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
& O' `' a/ {6 X( |- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
& I2 v9 @; ^, Q' G d, S& c. r- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
+ N7 P8 |, x% K) ]( K o8 O- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 2 x( j0 _4 z2 U, x6 I3 }6 x2 C' K

Qualifications
2 s9 s: B; J& O6 C- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
1 P u* t3 x2 C1 G2 A5 c2 D- good oral and written Chinese and English skills4 ?' C: x) R P C1 v, s, I, ^ d
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services/ u; b$ H* ~( S
- leadership skills9 @: X& ?) R2 ^& A0 V/ a! `/ r \
- management and supervision skills: \% _! v$ ^! i( W
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills6 q! @2 |* M: w* x# H
