Key Responsibilities

- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
$ Q! {- |. S2 w1 u& g& w$ {% u5 a- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties9 |- A8 I4 T0 C1 i
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
/ H) j4 ^; f: ` s1 a- provide volunteers for various programs # ~% @; k0 J1 t
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual8 x h/ G) c2 W' D1 l+ S5 q. E
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
! K# r* Y, S6 `- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities7 ~& M& c5 P6 G( M; J+ x
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
" m- J7 \6 G" B% U% N& p0 b- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports! X3 g+ }: {( y, \4 j' W. Q
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
7 {: O& z% c" O# m- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events ) v4 e* x3 p0 `* E7 S. L7 E
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
9 u* M: L2 E3 T) v* o- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
! P5 a, v* G* ?. r$ u$ c) w- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
! ]" _- N* |5 ]6 U7 j- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 4 ]- R, M. X6 Y; G
- evaluations ; O3 U! k9 r1 T3 R; A K1 C2 {2 H
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications
0 q6 k0 K/ x! ~# [6 W$ X/ k- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
% C( Q3 w: s V9 Y& q- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
% m+ R! B5 X5 x* V- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services2 h& G8 ~+ ~, N1 A; ?
- leadership skills
. V8 _* S: g3 \2 \8 _" v3 O, s- management and supervision skills
- R2 L3 o+ J6 Q. L j. j. z$ L# u- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills! L& j" d- y9 F+ Z9 G3 X% h
