Key Responsibilities

3 R% g) M+ L6 I/ m# Q6 g- provide volunteers to update membership database
; U# J& |. w8 l* X0 g6 V4 d- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
; L+ a8 |) u1 S* m e- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties7 o& E, S: y& u" ?8 x
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties# C4 x, c1 Q7 `0 L" D( l
- provide volunteers for various programs 6 Y" L1 ^# a) f2 I
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual6 J" A) s, r2 {2 Y, B% A) b+ K& w! J
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
, u8 ~- N& Y6 ^- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities2 m& U# l% O2 b
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
0 E9 |9 g7 z( G& G- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports( a, F6 U& i/ Z
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed. L; r! c+ L+ \; Z' f, F5 k6 h
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed7 u r! {) L* L! J! @2 V n. b
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
$ `- e& e* [0 ~+ M' I6 h/ _- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events

# s- O P9 D3 N$ V- g: {# `- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 0 S2 m' Q3 \9 p* v, x4 e; ]
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
" Z* c0 O! K6 t& X- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
) P: k: j" W1 H" o3 ?8 g- evaluations
: r, ]* b& D9 d! z- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre, k- T; Z Y! w/ m: ~4 S$ q& S

Qualifications& l B: u% R9 K9 v5 L6 g8 F- X0 o
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
5 ]0 Z& R* m5 }; x' d. D- good oral and written Chinese and English skills" @# _- z2 ^# A( f$ V; T! G% k
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
& k4 ~2 k j7 `2 Z9 d. W4 }- leadership skills7 S9 B, [3 V4 p3 o& ?& a! J: J
- management and supervision skills
7 V' d: Y7 X9 ~% U5 h- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
