- submit information for community news * H, \: d( H( s! T$ R; ?) ]+ ~
- provide volunteers to update membership database
! s2 O0 z- V8 z7 X, M- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
9 M' r) G: n7 c; h- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
# Z1 K9 m1 y) v- z' `- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
* V3 F6 M0 C. s t- provide volunteers for various programs
! x6 [# a0 f1 ~' K7 ^- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual& |0 V K3 H( n( r4 K5 {3 K
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation6 B4 B3 j x5 L1 B
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities' G8 M2 V# J0 a, Z* u' H
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services/ v- i1 a3 `6 ?) `3 s2 J. o
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
4 ?% \' U) j. l( X. i; F" ?- T- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed- }" @) t1 L0 \( S
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
, D* U1 |9 ], f- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)' ?9 R0 k% g# t! `% F7 m
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
6 L# u' F& g& s( B- development and distribution of a volunteer manual " @- Q! n( `. q; z# G' h6 Y1 v
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 8 G9 {8 r6 L% j" T
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
4 Q- m; g. L, Q4 J# S2 b! Z- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
+ W' @' d, L) a& Z- evaluations
$ K p: d( K% Q/ f" _- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications
( v- w% t# I Q# ^$ [7 p0 d- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
5 l1 z4 n, _: K& ^" u0 }# P( q- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
0 o, w; J" [8 t3 G, |. Q" ]- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services9 Q; E- `. m3 s4 d* V* |# S1 ~0 a
- leadership skills+ D% `/ L% h( C
- management and supervision skills
; f( W$ h6 [1 c- e: T% t6 ~- ^- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, T" ?4 {6 b7 K6 Q2 q' f7 J1 t
