CALGARY — A teen girl was taken to Foothills Hospital in potentially life-threatening condition Monday morning after a head-on collision that involved a "complicated extrication" near Chestermere.( N$ |% r, @' ~3 C5 e& B' o0 m
% g" c( A9 ]/ @0 u! ZAt around 8:30 a.m., RCMP, Chestermere fire crews and Calgary EMS personnel were called to Highway 791 just east of Calgary after a pick-up truck and smaller car crashed head-on, said EMS spokesman Stuart Brideaux.6 g; O; X5 p! M) x9 _
. ~ u' r. p/ n1 G9 m2 SThe female driver in her mid-teens, who was the lone occupant of the small car, sustained serious and potentially life-threatening injuries and needed to be extricated from the vehicle by fire crews.# _, \9 y$ o' @( A9 x
