A low pressure system currently in the Peace region will move northward overnight bringing snow fall amounts near 10 centimetres to areas northwest of High Level. Snow will begin to fall late this evening and taper off on Wednesday afternoon. There is also a slight risk of freezing rain overnight tonight. An intense spring storm will pass through Central Alberta Wednesday evening into Thursday bringing with it the potential of up to 25 centimetres of snow. The track of the storm is still uncertain however current guidance shows the highest snow accumulations to be in areas near and west of the qe2 highway. This storm will also bring strong winds which will combine with the falling snow to give near zero visibility in blowing snow at times.
