Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

3 L* `1 P: n! {: b/ {7 PTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
" Y' l8 ^# G: t7 m" V• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
+ a7 T3 n- d( R; l& w• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
% F: a8 E7 d, \$ Y' h: u• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;) q h6 r) } i9 {4 j2 E
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 6 ?; N6 P* E2 f U
• Risk Management and succession planning;

4 t/ F& E! W7 w: T/ K6 h3 m+ r5 pProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
3 G+ @$ C4 t p5 }5 @ f• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
3 k. I$ Z, q* ^• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
4 }, {* L/ |- ^8 k9 j: K/ N• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;# i+ I' g. _1 e* w @1 j' B
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities' f0 k, l/ |! m0 ^
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;& g9 J' z9 K6 t: G+ l
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;' j% L3 C9 n/ u8 k. Z2 D0 n0 u
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;* o7 f0 @' J2 o/ R
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;$ O. F( Y/ J0 I0 p- ^# B6 V" C
. u$ a4 H+ x; `1 R+ l4 P7 oQualifications:
) u: o. T# N( }; X9 @0 {• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
& V8 C" o5 Y2 b6 D |• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
- y5 _+ U1 j, ~7 G$ G• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 2 b2 m, X& t0 e% @( v& q' o
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;+ z g% F- O' p# h& `8 S& y0 |3 u
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.2 p+ [# P8 w+ q4 h e4 g: u* D/ Q
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
+ u0 ~* q- _5 p" Y' }' L! J6 T• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
5 Y4 c( t& P6 J: [- ^$ [8 U- P• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
. w7 T# l3 F3 A• Current valid drivers license;
. U* u0 @. x4 W) F• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;

• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;# E( [9 ` h0 S1 g% D0 ^! S

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
