To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

+ b/ p; q5 q6 {9 bThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)* W4 R( l/ P. m/ g

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:1 X( D" t0 e, S: Q' x
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
( T4 m2 t/ M( H; T3 n• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
% w- q' K* o6 t- B) M! o• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;3 C) w- H0 `4 E1 Z S
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; ( i7 q z1 o7 Y5 y; v) j
• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: 2 T" Q$ G. {* B/ m! n8 a) g
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;9 G c: }( q5 U% j8 p9 X- K9 T
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;& |. \2 t7 i; C0 I# b8 i
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;8 P+ N' ]* }' [, W8 B0 u$ f) o
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities8 a% G* F0 g* b) V& ~7 G
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;! O, K5 {( |+ R& `
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;# R: j2 i. o$ g
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;: a( N6 R5 P+ y" m) n7 V. C
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;9 N9 w3 t' B/ C% p0 I

Qualifications:) p1 ^% j4 i* Y: ]& j1 Y. k. N
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;( p, P' ~' s6 E' ?) J p. ]
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
6 c2 _ k% N0 g- b6 K( f• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 9 i V0 U! k, j# `1 i* N+ B
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
8 s/ w2 e7 O1 D9 T* e• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.% Z* B7 ? c. t7 N' F' \
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
5 z/ h( Z2 i: t/ l; g• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;6 a0 z+ z: o* q% E5 n
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;4 X- \" w z5 a
• Current valid drivers license;* S- B3 I3 f K- A: f9 L" Z
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;& e. g/ g! C1 E: C
• Conflict resolution skills;
