Job Purpose:
6 v% t" k; e/ K" V; J2 @To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

" T9 M( ?% U% o- dThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:* L4 @5 c9 n# m" y& K# \9 \
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
* n+ u1 M- B- D, u• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;, o" {' S2 v- z6 {" W5 X& i* }
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;4 b5 M6 k& ?* J" q; k( u8 W$ A
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
5 f7 E* Y1 h! P' y& E3 R1 S• Risk Management and succession planning;

2 }6 p$ D* J3 W) ZProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
) k, w6 p# k% _0 I7 Z4 c l% L• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
& m5 l7 { n* _: W+ N, K• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;' x7 {( N6 H Q( t. _: H( H7 y" ^) H
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;" L( i. f- e- S
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
8 F! V. @" j5 L. W2 k5 z+ {• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;/ Q. m8 T! V" I! i- E. m" k! k
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
# h: Z2 U! i5 r4 b1 F• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;4 w- S7 c8 Z6 \( {) e/ @
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;' b" A! B" s3 @: D+ T1 q7 w
- [1 J% C! [8 o& Q" ?& fQualifications:7 X: @2 c5 T$ P q
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;. Y: _% A) [% b$ K0 s" [
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
" _, C- N& @* g2 m1 s1 D) d• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
. o" ]: C9 e4 R* H! y8 f• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;# z8 f1 B: l `5 i! ^
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
' R' M) }7 y/ a! u• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
/ a' S* x1 G' c0 _3 F• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
' G- t" e: T* p) e1 U- Q• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;7 K5 q0 C1 D* c6 Z: Y8 ]: m! `
• Current valid drivers license;, e% ]9 L$ V5 M% F9 ^2 p
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
5 f, ?6 ^4 Q2 s, K/ `• Conflict resolution skills;% @: x+ _ ^4 S5 L; M
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
% O% W5 d7 ]8 q A1 y• Committed and passionate about children;
