Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

5 {7 {* R9 p; ]To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
: f- V: |' g4 M1 }$ ]• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;3 @ ^) \+ J# B
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;% o! Z+ ~4 l, {; g
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;) r, X. P% r6 q8 t( y
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 9 [# R2 Z$ }- D
• Risk Management and succession planning;4 n% s) L, x& G# @

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: : i& w5 W0 x$ P5 f4 ^# X0 m
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;- L: F5 h9 H5 i6 ]. _% E
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;2 o2 Z; x, v0 Q3 `% r! p6 A
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;+ p, g9 F# S7 p* U8 u
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities/ @/ J% g/ q, ]4 T/ _ K
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
) r% r$ G" g( K# M* c1 k# ^• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;( v9 d/ O7 [4 x
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
`7 [* Q: X- D3 P7 X! i& f- E• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

; _8 x! P+ f3 w0 ^1 X. QQualifications:
0 Q( I |; x- L, _1 N• Degree in communications, human services or related field;" d; ^. j$ q1 J
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
6 F1 Q6 s5 V8 A# B• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; , \) R% d, S( D& k$ X( S
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
- \# r: ~- U$ p' J% H• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
2 n) ?' R, S1 M* r• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
8 @- G5 ?! O5 w+ o$ X# n9 O; C& s' ~• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;) A2 a" e+ ?3 \( i* [ I o
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
: U7 M ~% K; t/ Q2 ^• Current valid drivers license;2 x( \* F/ V8 E4 {) x/ u& c4 m0 d& A* A
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;/ S5 d) E) Z& f1 X4 p! n7 Z) M7 |
• Conflict resolution skills;) O2 u( V3 l3 x2 Q
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
