后院较小,想在角落建一小PATIO,够放一张小桌加3把椅子基本就可以了, 具体的面积数字我还真是没有测量/计算, 不知大概需多少费用?

Yes, I like the 1st one better, too. But if the 2nd one cost less I probably would choose 2nd one then.

The 2nd one needs more precise works and  probably costs more time and labour, so I would say it costs more money.

I think you can DIY the first one, the slates don't have to be exactly flush with each other. If the thickness varies too much, just apply cement underneath the thinner ones to raise them. Fill the gaps in between with soil to grow grass or undercover plants, it will look great when the plants spread.

. g, T# T+ v2 T# nTo put sand in, it will become a bit more complicated job; you have to press it before you put the slates on top.
3 w7 j! y& ~! q+ H: z: f7 t/ b% G    If I diy this, I won't bother with sand that's why I suggest the use of cement underneath the thinner ones to flush the uneven surfaces. Just re-level again when settlement plays its part years down the road.

If patio goes first, I would think less stepping on the turf is expected., anyway, hot summer is not the best time of the year to lay sod.
