; r4 V7 a. R: l6 T% f( XSituated on the city’s southwestern outskirts in a great looping elbow of the North Saskatchewan River, Terwillegar was a gravel pit and dumping ground until 1979. Shaped over thousands of years by glacial erosion, wind and water, and now enclosed by the river, the lands contain a varied mix of natural grasslands and mixed forest, and the remnants of the mining operation.
