Edmonton police have arrested and charged a 26-year-old man with a weapon offence, following several recent gun complaints in the southwest community of Riverbend.% N9 o" s0 y! {/ Q5 T+ v) Y3 e& F& D" ~

+ ] l2 N, ]% b9 u9 NPolice arrested the man later in the afternoon at the Terwillegar Recreation Centre, after receiving a tip from a resident.

A search of the man's home turned up a BB pistol and balaclava matching the description given by witnesses. The man is charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.3 g d: T- ]8 r: f6 `' u. T& s, k
3 [4 S: T A9 o$ nA man wearing a balaclava and holding a handgun was seen in the area on two previous occasions — the first at 4 p.m. last Friday near the Snow Valley ski hill parking lot and on Saturday on the Terwillegar Drive footbridge.
