Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week), i  l6 _5 W5 m$ u1 L
Anticipated Start Date: The candidate is required to work immediately

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
+ N: `1 k9 V2 w: }' i. L•        Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
. `1 z- e* k0 {1 t" ~•        Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
+ m' w' ]% B: @* I0 R' p7 p; S•        Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
% ^) Y, J& v; j6 h% t•        Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
' Y- E& J$ S# `' B) F9 L•        Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents. I  D$ j% x9 h" G; G! T# s
•        Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker# b. }; i1 X; o) z- f" v0 C
•        Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
0 g/ h& P/ {+ G  H•        Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
, ^0 o5 }  Q2 ^8 h0 u! o•        Keep the reception area tidy and clean1 n+ `1 U; x$ E$ T) c; A: w
•        Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters1 {6 Q( K* _* ]; L
•        Maintain front counter service files
* f; g1 Y1 y( v! z8 X2 B•        Perform general office duties as assigned' f5 F$ U5 Q  g# P0 w5 ^
•        Report to ISP Program Manager' e1 _% t1 j! W2 T* `7 u) z

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
# p2 d- O6 t  w. V•        Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person% e4 o% O- ], n
•        Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
: K# s, n, Z/ C. f6 j" O0 W•        Good English writing and oral communication skills' H6 j6 r; H5 U+ X- R& p2 O
•        Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
3 h0 o* d0 P1 H8 ?# t3 j•        Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
  s" c: u8 I$ _' M8 j) S# \1 J•        Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately " S5 l& q$ |$ t5 \- L8 d! G3 L
•        Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds
" e' a  U' r; J; k) F•        Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment
- ~; S9 g% s3 i•        Knowledge of immigrant services: m' g3 R3 m5 V* N$ s$ j" j

•        2-4 years of office and clerical experience . ?9 q# n# c# ~4 E- ^0 |
•        Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
+ k: p$ \0 g$ p+ Q1 r•        Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism6 i. K3 O; M: M9 ]& b; j
•        Ability to work well under minimal supervision
