Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

" x. n2 @& B, g, r/ r4 `Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
% A; S! ?! y- V8 v- ^) T8 j; v# W* N• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person. O% q0 Z: w; l! a/ o2 H
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST) ?9 Y0 Q: V* {& [# ~2 U% q+ @. W% |1 J
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately) u% j2 p# N4 d: q/ j6 ?& Z+ N
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter6 w* |# b) v$ K9 N4 V; Z; b
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
$ r$ ~6 {& r% F+ g: [# T9 Y• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
7 f) @0 E% N6 G+ v, I( X• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
; k% k& F5 z6 @• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events/ b9 J+ N# N& ?6 r9 i$ I2 ]
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean& g7 e& K' E0 w& W
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
% d' C& l6 }# _. D• Maintain front counter service files

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
+ ~* q, V) f9 c" ]- e• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
# h! s& P: {' Z) R) S S6 _• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
& ?3 H5 G3 O# v* Z• Good English writing and oral communication skills4 S1 V4 w% Z4 O: P7 y: x- t
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients; a# q. d9 A, F, u. i
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook% s( p) A8 S0 m5 W% q) _! |9 t9 h3 m* r
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience ! N* v9 p, Y6 R8 T9 V, c0 p' j
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
3 M/ V( G! T+ ?5 h3 B* }. H% q* ^• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism3 R& g5 M* V3 @% R. B& I ^' L( _
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision* ^. m9 ^" Y; U% q' ~2 {
