This song was written in the wake of a break-up. Adele has had it with her boyfriend's poor attitude and behavior and is ready to move on. The "fire in her heart" represents her passion and anger.

Adele warns him of revenge

"Finally I can see you crystal clear":
Adele is seeing her partner in a new light and his flaws are now apparent.

"Go ahead and sell me out and I'll lay your ship bare":
Here Adele warns her partner with the age old proverb, "what goes around comes around".

"See how I'll leave, with every piece of you
Don't underestimate the things that I will do":
Adele expresses that her ex isn't worth talking about or grieving over, but she's heard that he's been talking about her and she warns him of payback.

"Baby, I have no story to be told
But I've heard one of you and I'm gonna make your head burn":
She is just saying that she doesn't have a "skeleton" to be told about but he does and if she starts she will not hesitate to say and do what is in her best interst.

"Think of me in the depths of your despair":
Adele warns him again about having a new girlfriend, so in the end Adele's boyfriend was thinking about the happy past with Adele, now and then he's thinking about his present without her, he was in despair at that moment.

"Making a home down there as mine sure won't be shared":
Adele says to her boyfriend "in the future, I'm sure you won't have enough money to complete a house because I'm not sharing MINE with YOU anymore!" just as she was about to leave, his boyfriend left too! his face was buried in his hands as he left. Adele was really mad.

"Rolling in the deep" possibly represents the depths of their love and passion for each other. Adele yearns for the love that "could have" been when they were so deep in love.

Adele regrets ever trusting him with her heart. she gave her heart to him, he knew it and used that to his advantage{ playing it to his beat}.

"Throw your soul through every open door":
Perhaps a dare to her ex to go for any willing girl that throws herself his way. Or he had better watch out, that soon everyone will know his face.

"Turn my sorrow into treasured gold":
Adele resents the fact that her ex has found self-worth through breaking her heart. Ouch. The "sorrow" is the break out and the "treasured gold" is the song she made that made millions
