- i, G/ ^" N$ E" U8 m, r8 XResponsibilities and Tasks

) |0 T3 o# z7 ~- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
6 }- `7 M: p' b* O% g) i! v8 y- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements0 {) J' a O7 T0 F% }
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
! z2 o9 D! k! v% ?" b- Select type and size of pipe required
' v/ \4 I, a- i* ~' ]- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools! C& k9 r- z. K( F
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system+ D0 M; Y4 M9 X
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems, `- F T9 J L; N) I
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment/ u& N+ m5 X8 d5 ?! u" V9 k
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system! Q# z$ D. |5 T* [' ?; k! G: S! _
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
$ {$ @% f/ q9 Z+ _, x- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program

- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
' l( ] k$ Q3 w0 d. D& [6 D- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
* U9 J7 }+ O! ]4 T& o5 S% Z& O- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
; N+ e0 n' z" k+ S( h" X9 A- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
g2 c0 I& Q9 E, F) }- Safety tickets are considered an asset
