Title: Pipefitter

Reports to: Fabrication Shop Supervisor

5 e# T3 U# H% j( D/ Z% D2 hLocation: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.


7 ]0 n" u+ |0 @- s' I& l" \Responsibilities and Tasks

-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
0 v- i2 ?3 M. C- w& _9 V# M! V-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
% i! Y3 Q; _' ], r& y-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
- ?9 b" O7 ^# l0 s9 j/ }& t( a-        Select type and size of pipe required
3 k) c1 K+ G8 i  r  J+ c1 `0 |-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
& O( `+ w: i: x. _-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
, u0 O6 k7 E! u1 p-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
/ M* X4 _( J7 s/ [-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

7 {( L: c  w) n  URequired Qualifications
6 ]- v. b6 L# L; |- ^/ e3 t; n% q
-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

6 Y% v5 Z. E! H0 q/ S7 F-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
! K+ @' {  t5 A9 s, g; n3 G. Y$ D-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
