5 O* X2 b2 d6 T* `Responsibilities and Tasks
, B8 @; @- _! ^, _: V0 K& L1 s) \6 B! g) n- O
- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment , ], H. V; P8 n3 I
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
6 l6 |. n2 `* v4 C; y* u2 Z: J- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines$ K+ V5 J8 f1 F3 y
- Select type and size of pipe required2 r7 t8 f; m( r" h7 N$ a
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
0 v! J a2 A# a' ~- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
4 z. q- J+ v7 \4 d5 }/ `- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems/ u( t! e( f+ E; Z
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment! Q7 Q2 {$ y& m$ L2 c/ h9 |' q
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system1 u, `/ Z0 E& g
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system z4 H" k3 K5 G. ]! ?2 I, W
- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program2 _# I" Q9 e9 W3 A* w! a

! r/ }( A* p3 DRequired Qualifications
2 E+ T) g1 f5 m1 z, K1 u D
) t( j' a$ Y6 u- Completion of secondary school
- G3 D+ G0 |8 \- b3 a% ~- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
3 Q( r4 a, _% g7 R( [5 _- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals4 i0 t4 W# z! o( d/ J/ f& z
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

$ L) O" T8 c$ r9 n" S- C2 P- Safety tickets are considered an asset
