The College's Objects as follows under The Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009:

2. To regulate the practice of trades.

9. To determine appropriate journeyperson to apprentice ratios for trades subject to ratios.

10. To determine whether a trade should have compulsory certification status.

14. To work with other governments in Canada and the Minister with respect to the interprovincial standards program for apprenticeship and with respect to qualifications required for trades. f/ c% w% w( ?0 H* n1 `

15. To conduct research in relation to trades.- j1 D9 O( @. v
9 \4 r- K P5 w7 l, t16. To perform such additional functions as may be prescribed by a Lieutenant Governor’s regulation. 2009, c. 22, s. 11 (1).
