Job Description:

• Support capital projects and network build activity with coordination, installation, and commissioning duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met.

! R; \. L' s/ B/ Y, h• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels.

5 X+ u6 K; k/ a8 \2 _( t• Plan for and implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.

• Maintain "up-to-date" site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.

' i5 g: H( U( }0 W' j• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.

! p8 h" J7 Q" F5 C" M, n9 A( M6 Y• Microwave and Transmission experience (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3, OC3, OC12, IP) • Gain in depth knowledge of key quality service indicators in geographic area of responsibility.

• Optical Fiber, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP • Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities.

; p0 x3 h* B  s& C* H% I) }2 u• Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.

7 |5 r6 v" g+ G4 R$ g• Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.

1 h* R' e9 _' K; k# m, w  m2 |• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes.

• Document activities for future assessment analysis.

9 T4 ^* W$ F- ]: h• Maintain current documentation of site status, complete trouble tickets, incident report and other required reports.

• Shift work, overtime, and 24 hour on-call support may be required on a regular rotational basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

$ l0 g# v! N( b* `0 n6 ^• 5 years of telecommunications experience.

0 U! ^. R$ r- i  \* }. ]8 b• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

3 K8 v' Q$ X$ ^5 r- R• Demonstrated investigative, problem solving, analysis and troubleshooting skills.

Additional Comments:           

The Manager is looking for a contractor with the following skills:

: j% \9 W1 s- B) r) Z-Telecom Diploma with at least 2 years of post secondary education -Experience working at a cell site -Must be willing to travel around Alberta (expenses will be reimbursed) -Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Internet Protocol Analyzers, RFC testing and Microwave testing *The manager is not looking for Engineers.

*The contractor will not be required to do any climbing This is for a large LTE Expansion in Alberta.
