Anything related to water frozen in basement is a serious issue, it has to have immediate attention.
Few minutes work if just the safety expansion valve leaks ( most probably only the valve) # S! Z. l9 u: I9 s+ I c( O1 r, T' e: U" Z9 D# \6 X) x
Close the main water inlet valve; 2 Q; j: q3 p: B& f" J. Fopen all faucets in the house including showers to drain all water out in the pipe line;" ~" h- V* S! U% P' P
Close the cold water valve to the water tank if you have one; $ Y* j- W- t. _- ^# K5 IShut down the hot water tank by closing the temperature switch to off;7 |/ ?! w. |& Y" X/ }2 G9 [

The drain hose is supposed to have water go thorough the humidifier filter inside the housing and then goes to drain when furnace is on.7 z( Q! C* V1 |0 i# A- B
