question for shower pan?

please help me out:

& y( k' K, h8 |! s# V9 d4 Q! Xdoes a curb needed by code in building a mortar shower pan for a tile shower? the curb looks ugly and dangerous for older people.  i wonder if i can have a tile shower without the curb, only slop and glass panel to prevent water splash out.

In a short way of answering this question: NO, a curb is not always required. Go search “barrier free shower” or “zero entry shower” on google, you should be able find more information.
