中国同学遇见老外,想知道人家的姓是怎么拼的,经常脱口而出:
" u. `+ e) k; `3 \* n+ L! |: V% z% v) |
; e0 ?) q7 j# T d9 |8 eHow to spell your last name?
3 {1 M' |( }! `* D- G8 [, l2 Q3 K, U% F W1 e
其实这种错误不光是中国同学特有的。亚非拉的同学很多都这么说。从语法的角度说,how to spell your last name ...
% \4 r8 U3 u! L3 O/ k6 w8 B. D ? U1 U) |3 ?; N: X
"how to..." is a phrase. Therefore it can't be used as a sentence like " How do you...; Since it is a phrase, it can be used as TITLE--you can use a word, a phrase or a sentence as a title. Same reason "how to..." can also be used as part of a sentence: " I am not sure how to spell your first name."

"Long time no see" is from old English.; L# S. u5 x# ?1 S/ o; {
/ g+ I0 h& ], _. R"No problem" is short form for " I have no problem..." "There is no problem ..." so when used in answering something, it is simply expressed as "No problem". |
