Parkland 公司比较 “著名“的手法是利用捐钱的方式，绕个大圈变回抵税的方案。加拿大税务局CRA 几年前已经留意该公司的手法，也推翻了该方案。个人所知道的是，该公司还在与税务法院上诉有关的诉仲。

目前，该公司好像还在推销这种方案，也担保客户他们保留50万元的上诉费用如果方案被否决。（好像是综合全部客户，不是对每个客户）
问题是，如果输了，客户要自理对税务局的罚款加利息, 客户自理。

GIC 的含义本身是 Guarantee Investment Certificate = 保证或作担保的投资证。如果是银行开出的，就是银行作担保。同时每年有x%的回报。

如果是上市公司开的证书，我们一般统称为债卷，或bond。公司发行债卷的主要原因是融资问题。如果银行可以用 prime 借给该公司, 这些钱一早就被借了，没有必要向人推销自己比银行高的GIC。关键是一些公司信用很低，银行不肯借，或风险/成本太高，这些公司才向私人售卖其债卷。一般情况下，一些公司由于借不到钱，需要把债卷回报率抬高到12-15%也不出奇。返回来说，如果到期后也还不了，这些债卷的 default rate 就很高，市场对这些还钱不了的bond 称为垃圾债卷 (junk bond)

如果如lz所说，是私人公司开的话，就留意公司的信用，自己评估风险。想想如果自己可从银行借7%的话，你会否向别人用8%来借呢？

虽然说是Guarantee, 该公司用什么东西Guarantee ? 是不是有人借钱，他们会把房地产作为抵押作为Guarantee 呢？

说实话，Alberta经济这么火爆，投资回报率完全应该像房价一样翻几翻。

如果楼主提到的GIC确实是真正意义上有投资回报保证的GIC，不妨说清楚是哪家公司的。8%虽然比银行利率高，但倒还不是too good to be true。同时也多谢斑竹提醒。

That private company wants to gather $500,000 funds and it use their 1.2 millions real estate to gurantee to pay the funds back plus 8% interest. The contract will be signed by the lawyer. It found $450,000 already. Thanks a lot for all who are interested it.

这个叫做loan，不叫GIC。
别说8%，就是10%甚至更高都有可能，还有些是RRSP eligible的那种。不过投资者要多了解一下借款公司的经营情况，注意风险。
