currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job
No. 9246.

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

$ b2 q: a: c4 F/ }Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
) N: }, T8 ~/ b& A, c: r1 \, y- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
! l* d$ D& F) j( T, Wthe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
& I# o" X4 F5 A- v* r" `/ v  Q# Ischool year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
. B- J0 j+ z0 D  A& l. \5 gCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
% s: G8 o, O3 @8 @; K/ i& F# getc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
% H2 W  {) s* a5 N  Sparticipants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
' n) ^- i5 j6 `2 e) Itheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
7 Q/ m$ j% q1 G. c% N+ ?- [( [# t! L! gassisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
' M7 t2 O8 ~/ P: L: T1 {, v6 k' rvenue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

+ j0 e, {% J- c1 K3 h, aQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
3 J) W3 ~7 t( N: Q8 Odemonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
6 @2 f9 X/ B+ cof co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
" v2 i1 U8 D7 u# [skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
& T( D6 A% b8 x# |7 [Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
+ m# U( U1 w! S0 I6 Jexperience coordinating group activities an asset.
