currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat

- j: \+ L' Q( @: |) X( U) fHours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
( s( S4 W1 @* C- X- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
+ D0 ^( z0 m( f+ \+ uschool year starts.

& a3 u6 p, y; r( M: F1 IDuties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
) x2 D* j- C! VCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
! J5 L2 I/ }9 bvenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
3 l7 p+ [; J3 |  b' v  retc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
+ a3 Y' ^0 h. h2 U6 Rtheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
& `# V( W7 N+ a( k6 c8 C7 ?excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
$ z: A* b2 ]' P% V0 pfunctions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
$ V4 ^/ d4 p- L( _2 W. t/ Lsuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
  _* n" a- ?) _7 w: O; B( \9 Mpresentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

5 _9 R7 o& d0 c9 H  F* P& s) v& FQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
" f7 P1 W; D3 J0 j2 X6 @6 j+ s) jfluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
) t6 m8 g+ t+ ]- pof co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
& o. q) e1 H6 P6 Z0 cskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
/ s8 K" F5 W+ x4 FExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
2 D- u) x' o/ t9 z0 _/ C. c9 hexperience coordinating group activities an asset.
