currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

, J* P  B6 u. `8 E( GSalary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
% e1 I8 }6 z& V4 M, Ppay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

! U# t' |7 k8 n5 N: v5 ]Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
7 w/ V( Z! c/ [( K' s' q$ c& I$ ^( {- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
2 T& J/ c5 U4 S: ethe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
school year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
6 |7 N6 A: u2 ]: u& P9 D* gCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
  I- N9 i8 f3 g( c) g7 N& q! Kvenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
, `! l! n: ~- xetc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
+ i3 |% d0 ^( Y( u* q# Ftheir program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
) v! ^" @) r  P3 g! a9 xtheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
; \) U/ Q% i% j4 @+ S- L- Zoutings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
7 E/ }5 A1 M8 ~- ]. ^functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
6 H" h$ _1 O  }presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

$ f1 q4 @7 \8 l; n9 NQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
- u  @, R# q( H  E4 D2 @4 _demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
: [. `7 e/ |; K9 ga variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
' F% o+ w  F/ s. tof co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
, v9 f" z5 J7 z9 I3 l& pExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
