JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
& B+ s( o8 R. B! s9 h* G1 YBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
- c; W! x& e( y0 Y* D; L- rcustomer service and room cleanliness.
; n; R, d7 z; M2 F9 _6 i6 s+ _

0 X9 }( ?) g/ {8 q7 y( mDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

: a2 @8 N* F( D1 A- k$ L3 `2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
# P& f8 X6 f- Paccordance with Students' Union policies.

3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
$ D+ b* {5 ?& w9 nincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
7 Z3 F4 a. N$ N* T4 rand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

0 T1 _1 v; {, b4 Y" z& V5 U3 e: l5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
; M. j) A1 D2 q# _, w. dintervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
: F9 S- j% L9 F' A6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
* B/ v: _) p5 e6 j, [) y: vAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.
) C. }9 F$ o# g* }5 X8 c' f) t
7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.
) f8 O4 r3 f2 @& v: u

QUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.

3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.

) w" ~) W* q8 d9 W2 ~# G! E4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food
