; y5 J5 N& e) y8 }9 W! L% CJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
! u8 q# X) ^  G" D- C6 Z, h% eprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
# x! q1 `0 V8 x, \# Q8 l! Hcleanliness and order in the bar.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
6 _7 C+ t* ^& a* a8 f$ `/ M1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
beverage items.
# G  ]( v! e( |, |0 Y
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
, b8 D/ V( f: t) J" S6 Ibar and debit floats.

3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
each shift, and upon closing.

4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
. J" E- C( u  A. E0 {# istorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
3 }. d5 K9 Y9 t% G1 B* `3 Fproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
1 I# H+ R) u# G$ Umonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
3 m+ z& L8 q1 i0 ]  Baccordance with Students' Union policies.
$ A/ Q" s; R* ?1 ^# c7 I+ f
7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
, c% W5 h5 `1 phigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
* q# U" M' [6 m: f  `" s% s, Z To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
5 O% C& L# o, Z9 ?8 `# }  MSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS:
9 X, P# j/ p. P8 w/ ~1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

" i% U+ a- ?4 E* x7 [& w2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
. |. s, n( k% moperation.

3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
accordance with Students' Union policy.
, e( b0 W1 d# D( {: x% t
6 N1 h7 r, Z+ C, V) \3 y4 G4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

' c/ w; C2 Y9 g! m8 }4 T: k+ Y5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
' [, I5 v" J. O! E& V$ z! D: b* CUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
attitude.

Union position
Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
