ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

; W# B; s8 L. _( dThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

Education Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.* g6 W! D1 G- F. }( ~" S2 B2 t) E

1. Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
; a6 b% e8 B/ R( {2. Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.8 t) R4 A( D7 E8 S
3. Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.( T7 m' ~1 P* E" A
4. Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
