) d$ f# d/ x4 \7 o8 F5 b# ePosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
+ P+ d% V- y1 j9 vpolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
) O3 \5 _4 i& I6 A0 {( _8 T( aaffairs at all times.

& F/ l) x  `# b  Z* k1 LPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
0 T5 z! Z, q' K8 c5 y% tvision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
  c$ X4 N3 ]9 G7 P9 J$ l7 ^arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
+ M9 Q, S; b  [: B7 Pto implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
6 K* C2 _9 x$ jas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
2 K/ w) D" B0 {' n8 C0 t0 o7 c: e; Q; Sservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
8 V0 ]2 K: ~- U+ s( X4 kthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
6 o4 _: `7 d% t# q' y# k, v  X- fdevelopment of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
* N- u. w5 }* x& |' m1 j9 T9 a& i/ `* Fthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

9 E4 t3 `- }1 X% V' i2 XKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
/ c0 O( U2 Z! V5 r6 p& Dorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
# a  {) h% C: i$ x3 V1 `work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

- C5 t& l9 I8 y: G1 D" HPLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
proposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
