a. To develop and implement a marketing plan for the venues that
7 {9 }* v6 [4 ?. J# [focuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty,
: {/ }2 ?' x- I, ^9 M8 cstudents, and internal and external clients on an on-going basis.
/ P5 r6 n$ d/ i/ l" _This strategy will include implementing and/or delegating the following:- @0 Z+ o0 F$ t/ ]9 y; K! W
· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz
' `$ M* F3 b" ~! N* y3 qTheatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to
" T6 i: ~# v9 b# [( g" z! mtake advantage of other internal and external advertising ) k5 A: D6 a! Y2 `" @" L
opportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional
, t( q( t; t- q( V2 gliterature on an ongoing basis.
' ~5 ?% j% k6 v/ v· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.% T) p+ @) o2 S/ _
· To promote upcoming events in the Horowitz Theatre through the " m: p* H& U: _. }
use of the Horowitz Theatre Home Page and the SU Events Calendar.

R, ~! E. D% pa. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost- . [" A! q: X) L7 G. M- Y) _# y( Q
effectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the
8 t: d: s1 M8 ~8 a8 v* _; N! mvenues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and 6 N! O b$ e( P7 e; K
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of 1 Q6 ]4 {( k( c. d4 O
the renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited
3 _, j$ c+ A+ M% t" Cto, the following:
! X- Y9 @* t1 U; z( x8 z4 A· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues 1 J3 J9 E7 p; U" E' U
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining,
3 t9 X! ?3 Y* z( W# xevaluating and terminating, as necessary.
j% L$ [8 e( z$ ]0 N To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at - x; D p9 l+ C. G
all times, this includes the development and implementation of such ; _ H5 a% |. p5 d
schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and
; k# g8 x( t$ N: g, u1 Qcost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it
, W) j3 N7 z: P" vis in operation or needs to be in operation.
2 w7 p/ T+ u; [ s: {/ ?· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure
3 o* G# O. z# B; E. Lthat an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to * l$ n5 U& }* v
facilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all
3 {! i O8 u1 E( a% E; Nrenters needs are met.
1 x( v; x, i* U/ ?· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills 8 Y4 F" ]# \1 M* I# A" L. ^: S
and attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of
- O2 N; ?. n9 F' ^# Y+ D* x) m$ }7 o0 \the roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and
# L2 a0 ?2 r: `$ I0 d8 |effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and 7 |6 f- t( B. f; d' r. _/ t
appropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual

· To ensure all staff are trained in and committed to providing

· To work with the Technical Director to arrange staff
. b! k, ]; j, J6 e$ M3 Wscheduling. To handle payroll related matters, under the guidance 6 G% y% M3 b; N7 b9 G+ g
and direction of the Manager of Venues and Programming, concerning

· Working with the Manager of Facilities and Operations to ensure
" \6 B2 H6 t6 J& othe appropriate setup/tear down of each venue.
) c: k/ m& _# U· Working with the Manager of Programming and Venues to ensure
+ T" i0 M6 e4 Q, b/ U4 s' rthat additional requests such as licensed receptions are arranged.

systems and processes utilized by or within the venues meet the

To provide input and expertise in the formulation of appropriate ) e; h6 f. A2 l3 x1 w
operating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of 0 ^+ O8 P* }+ \% D
Programming and Venues and to discuss and refine those budgets

· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and ' o7 R" N# q: M
administrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the ) b4 |+ B% X2 ^; g2 b1 ?3 p
compilation of monthly and annual financial statements, and such / k$ q. Z) W8 r8 N) r0 M( \
other reports as may be necessary.# L' S ]; E" {+ e
· To discuss those financial statements and other reports, together $ f( r4 r" M c5 k c M5 N
with all financial and administrative procedures, with the SU´s 0 c/ p! \( |9 x; ?, o) y

Administration with a view to determining and implementing action & L. l( I% e+ u- u v% c3 Q8 U5 g) l
aimed at improving the financial and/or functional effectiveness of & j4 r8 h- A" L! \
the Horowitz Theatre.
( K2 K& p& W2 _4 P· To ensure the existence of adequate, effective and accurate job 8 f6 t/ \- {; [) z o9 q/ T3 n
costing systems to be used in connection with the determination and 5 C' k( i, U/ v9 `: b
setting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for 9 Z+ ]" Q! K& p+ A3 a; [6 T9 ^! a
events held in the Horowitz Theatre.
% ]0 U2 L1 w6 c( ]8 U· To develop accurate documentation to be used in connection with
$ [% I; I! m( L+ n ?& P6 Xthe billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely

· To recognize, address and handle all matters relating to financial

a. To ensure, at all times, that the systems and processes used in

venues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

may be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this ; e R) |, N0 I; Y& ^
is to include but not necessarily be limited to systems and processes
: \5 |( N1 f$ F3 Z# W+ J! j. s, Ein the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation,
S) }0 ~* L0 V( ^. W6 l5 xpricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing,
) A* b8 {) C, N4 f- a3 m0 ^together with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary
5 j7 [; T" `* {to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and 7 c c5 `2 W9 L& ~: w
functionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.- T% ^: ?, B) W8 w/ V
· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures
6 i4 i" i4 s5 _$ B! E2 A2 uas may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost- $ B! {8 I, f' H( Z# v0 X
effective operation of the venues.: k9 R2 J" m6 H2 G8 c$ y
· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to $ Q! W( {8 b! B
dates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.3 u' W& d) X1 p. u( B: N! e
· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and
) i/ H+ u6 |0 Q$ d7 ithat such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.3 A- [+ s; e3 y0 J% ^5 S
· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their 9 y/ `& w) c' D4 M$ G) ?0 T
particular event in the venues.( w* A4 U" b2 q8 R! W
· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and * c2 |6 B5 b" S7 C8 y
supporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the
2 j2 a1 h( ]+ rroles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event.
$ Y2 Z, N3 Y6 v' g, T+ G· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular * W, {' M% p+ b
rental with consultation with the Technical Director.
+ ]' k2 l3 { v" i3 ^0 q# E· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the 3 h; ?% l, {* |2 a& Z7 M( V
SU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately
- f' l" l% t' M8 K' P: \6 p& Ganswered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in
+ ?! f! s1 s% [follow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.
s& {7 |3 P7 v! G7 Y To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately,
0 ~" g# ?& z$ Aeffectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that ( ]: D4 @) c+ z$ b' M, O
the cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision 1 |$ C; B( Y3 i4 u/ `6 K! I
made for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of

· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of
) [8 Q" z% y. J3 J2 C5 usignificant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of
