About background check

My case:
FN Sep.11 2006
: V. J& e( Q5 O$ \  l" [$ d3 F4 K) W.....(nothing from then)
( O( V" S7 c& c' b
- Z( w& d1 X1 U0 h. Y+ G0 rI sent an email to CIC buffalo yesterday inquiring about my case and got the reply:
: I8 o6 X2 g! u$ y9 m
"We have requested background information from other government
% m7 e  C" `( _) u7 U0 soffices(s).  Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing
# u" k$ d0 v/ `9 lof your application will be complete.  We cannot respond to requests for
the status of your application before this information is received."

Does this mean I am undergoing background check? Is it a normal BC and security background check(SBC)? Anybody has idea about how long it is gonna take? Thank you!

本人也不幸在被调查中...

不用太担心，他们的回复都是同一格式，不代表一定在作背景调查。我也收到过这样的回复，后来request了一个CAIPS NOTES，发现是不知为什么我老婆得Medical Examinaion的结果他们一直没收到。现在我们就要landing了。你也可以request一个CAIPS NOTES，看看到底是怎么回事。

不一定就是背景调查，　也可能是查再加拿大有无犯罪记录什么的，不用担心。
