Apply to Extend my mom's visitor stay

+ ^: o. d, F7 j% p" |" a' IMy mom's visitor status in Canada is expiring. We are planning to apply for her extension. I did read the application package but have two questions:

+ d# J% Q9 w& d+ u* K  Z) }1. The reasons for an extension. Can we use the reason: we want her help to take care of our new born baby? There are people say it is a bad reason. Is it true?

1 ^* J! k' i! Y2. In the Document Checklist - Visitor. Proof of means of support, as specified. Since we are taking care of her, what are the required documents for "proof of means of support"?
