Apply to Extend my mom's visitor stay

; w1 X- g! h5 V4 qMy mom's visitor status in Canada is expiring. We are planning to apply for her extension. I did read the application package but have two questions:

+ i# `6 D) d4 l( k: o0 _7 p& ^1. The reasons for an extension. Can we use the reason: we want her help to take care of our new born baby? There are people say it is a bad reason. Is it true?

0 e- S! N. N+ `7 b2. In the Document Checklist - Visitor. Proof of means of support, as specified. Since we are taking care of her, what are the required documents for "proof of means of support"?
