Apply to Extend my mom's visitor stay

My mom's visitor status in Canada is expiring. We are planning to apply for her extension. I did read the application package but have two questions:

8 C0 j8 f4 P, _- g0 ?/ q% S1. The reasons for an extension. Can we use the reason: we want her help to take care of our new born baby? There are people say it is a bad reason. Is it true?

0 y% i  p+ }3 x0 R6 K1 }- U2. In the Document Checklist - Visitor. Proof of means of support, as specified. Since we are taking care of her, what are the required documents for "proof of means of support"?
