Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news : U3 M+ y0 o5 I" R
- provide volunteers to update membership database
! W* Z$ e9 P4 t2 t1 D- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers$ y3 _* c2 n% P/ `3 J* H J& n) X
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties8 R2 p# H# Y3 [! X
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties. H! P; B; A- G0 e8 ?" `4 p
- provide volunteers for various programs
7 K% Y5 g7 _0 J: |- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
0 n3 q! u" N4 |- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation' k6 m5 t( h7 e+ Q5 |2 \7 R. ^6 |
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
3 A1 X# p+ \1 v( w- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
6 P3 O; Z; S% L- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
* t. [& K" }+ c# C4 z6 Y1 x/ G- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
1 e# j3 Q1 T- x. y8 I+ O( y$ }) Z- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed

( X+ v( }% j& d9 U3 ]- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events

- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 8 w- B0 P* [. `" o6 f' f. g
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 2 p* c+ ?- f; n3 T. T9 w" d
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

Qualifications r( I! D9 k {! }5 W. n
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
/ H4 Y+ G( ]% C) U& C' k/ R- good oral and written Chinese and English skills9 J4 }' j; M# \0 H3 K' }
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
. G& K6 V/ S/ x6 ?- leadership skills
' H. a, k( K: {( u K2 n- management and supervision skills
