Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities) G: G7 f' D" [7 \3 b
- submit information for community news + J0 { |& Z s u- V* P
- provide volunteers to update membership database, p. b3 w! r, L/ ]+ e
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
, N i3 H" t& y/ A0 T- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
: _* Y3 x' D5 V* W1 w. [- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
9 j0 [ }- ]9 g6 ~- provide volunteers for various programs
2 I$ c+ A5 A1 J. R; L5 [- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
l- _+ `8 B. G& R/ y- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation* ?9 A, M' |6 |/ `# [
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
! s. w5 G1 y) p9 Z- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services: {# a. e, e h( @
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports) o9 r1 S% r* k) P7 ?% P. [
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
" U: n+ x9 ^# r8 n- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed3 a1 v+ O6 m9 z& w' x; ^$ `) e2 ?
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
6 W1 Z' G8 c# }# d- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
2 k, \( W- C- t. o! Q- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
# p6 N; `/ x2 X* M0 r: z9 }0 t- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
, w9 i! w: v( d& t# I- i8 l k! g- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
7 f: D) m+ Y" j5 G- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis ( X' Z( _) G M* V
- evaluations

" }. T4 S$ w( |5 m- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
$ y& e t, n, g- good oral and written Chinese and English skills% l' X( ~, C# `, `! D: {5 Y
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
2 x, D7 V& r! l( G2 F- leadership skills
m0 w, u' A/ o! r8 ?2 R& ]- management and supervision skills
