Board

• is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals

• provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions

Programs/Services
: c/ q8 `5 e; [" m i4 r• overall management of all agency projects/programs and services( p( a3 F! p1 [7 {, d
• design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities* I9 Y/ M* v7 G$ I/ w1 d
• prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders

% J" g* s4 t- n& W( t) y }5 q, K• identify community and user needs and trends
* k$ {+ w1 {1 [ e: l8 C# N" ?• implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends, a0 l- ?7 n$ ?$ g
• conduct program evaluation/survey/research

• delivery of program or activity to participants as required+ F& C; Z. U1 v, ]1 F: V- D9 [
• build on knowledge of community resources in program development
% ^6 ]* ^- p0 ]3 @# J• ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

External Relations; M2 j: L% @: ]3 D; C/ z z& C
• act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities
7 K* f. J+ [$ W• build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public & funders4 i3 o: C6 S% D% a
• communicate the value of the organization to the public
+ ?# N) Q# B. b0 Q• identify community needs and trends# W+ v& B# _" S
• coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups* l) _4 n! {! C" v+ c8 o1 ^
• advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups' F! Z" g4 D9 ]4 f4 r& A6 A4 _
• work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.: e d# P9 V& M4 C# B; g
• Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff

Qualifications
. E5 }$ g9 ?: x) l" d v3 {5 b- University degree in a related field; 5 Y' `# K+ L9 [; u0 h
- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;0 t: X, F- `5 w5 d0 J
- Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management;
' x( `( N! h! @1 G+ a( C f- 2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization ' r0 C7 [5 j1 I& t. T6 i) C6 O

Salary
2 r) c0 l6 |5 [4 k- $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
