Senior Agency/Program Manager

• reports directly to the Board of Directors

• is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board

Staff

• provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions

• meet with staff on regular basis* x) m- d) ]3 E
• build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff

• prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders8 d; N" a8 M( @6 r, M) ]; h

• identify community and user needs and trends
( u: j( O- y% S; g• implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends

• ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

External Relations
; f5 v, i5 L. Z# y• act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities4 M4 y4 o/ l9 J' T0 ]4 B
• build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public & funders
! d! n5 Y. N( ~" c• communicate the value of the organization to the public
% }+ a" S' z _/ G8 ~+ o+ r9 x" ?• identify community needs and trends8 ~$ ~6 v4 P. k
• coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups B. q& X' J1 u; `8 l* [
• advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups6 g; Y! K$ _! ^0 O# t
• work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.7 D" A# `9 S1 ]0 F
• Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff

Qualifications7 [1 w8 _' |) h. a# ]: @0 h
- University degree in a related field; ; n$ x& g5 @9 F7 M9 t
- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;
% S( b: z* n. {& P& z: @& c* ^- Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; }( ^* A: \: v6 W% W/ f Z
- 2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization + }/ n% q% z+ `" c
* W3 ]% \5 l+ J/ O
Salary
6 Z5 Q. W: t, }* {2 m' k3 _- $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits 6 H( X L, U/ G t, i8 ^
