Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community4 E: z" B5 i0 G p: \7 O, u1 \
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services# V( \8 ^7 |0 G& u" q! j0 d
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- assist in writing proposal for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications) x* F# r: n8 @; m7 S, a7 I
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
% ]6 b; _/ b" J5 d+ C. C- b- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
/ b) n9 g- |0 `0 n3 K- experience in community work and immigrant services+ Q# }) _3 O8 `" W/ G9 f# W
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars( o/ s! V; h9 X4 [
- leadership skills
