Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. " s0 F+ C7 R4 k# e: Q M2 \

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community% U5 ~" x( e4 n" n0 G- l
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services" {( g* ?9 M: S k! P. y4 G- F
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services5 A# z: ]# F8 X' n+ O5 D2 t2 `
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies' D' Y7 V4 q- a6 r
- coordinate good will activities

- prepare and send AGM information to members
) H; H* x$ [. c2 v5 R; f+ B. N- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- explore new ideas for ISP

Qualifications
/ O' l5 X& @" j6 L6 b5 {; T) t0 |7 G( w- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education , K O$ Z; z& D1 ~
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
( b3 j1 m, D0 M0 s3 b% |- experience in community work and immigrant services& T. n$ d# K8 |+ r A# d1 N- u
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars8 U: i" A( z& G' u/ r( @" p8 J
- leadership skills
