! g; W/ y' b+ r) k0 K, }, w4 \Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

Job Description:
2 D6 j5 A" r$ ^ P$ _- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
4 }! `$ A7 `3 j- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
* K$ d0 ~, T- i' O- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
) X0 Z7 _$ z$ N& h7 c3 q; Q- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
' q! c! W F7 Z6 I$ Z, c' Y5 A; N- coordinate good will activities
* V9 ?! M- M1 k# F V- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
. u G# q8 l0 x" V, i: D8 k) F- submit information for community news 6 q. w3 o- F* H+ w/ w+ A1 n
- prepare and send AGM information to members
, R/ `3 _2 F1 l6 e+ G- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
; g3 P, O; L/ C5 b F- assist in writing proposal for ISP
, r" j/ K# V) k9 p- T7 B' T' d- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
C) l3 k Z0 l. z, E+ T1 j- explore new ideas for ISP
4 ^5 M# ], n" s6 q, M$ m y; Z- hold regular meetings with ISP team
) V! N' f$ f( k5 F. T. x' H# j- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications
+ f4 |# {: n! R! N- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
2 o% t% y& o2 H: V- good oral and written Chinese and English skills# ~: x. u1 o0 Z# N% L
- experience in community work and immigrant services
0 h4 o2 v. H( N( O" i' ?7 m- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars; j. o, M" J! A8 C4 D8 x
- leadership skills3 |% K1 ~8 I% @( D: @. k
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
