As the Corporate Financial Co-ordinator within the Corporate Accounting and Reporting office of the Finance Branch, you will lead the year-end reporting functions within the City as well as the operating fund corporate accounting, and guide the development of related policy, procedures, and strategies.  This includes:/ Y( h! c( z. ·         Coordinating the completion of the annual consolidated financial statements, the Provincial municipal information return, and other financial reporting for audit.

) _& b) {* p$ c+ L. y$ _. S8 c·         Providing advice within the organization and to related Boards and Authorities on options for resolution of financial and reporting issues.* H1 X0 C! y, v4 U" z6 t

2 x! e4 K. s% Y2 I) s  ^/ C; e·         Research and coordination for implementation of new professional accounting and reporting requirements for municipalities.# X) m6 x1 G1 b0 R; g! J

·         Leading the development of related policy and procedures, and internal training where required.

·         Performing the regular and customary managerial functions including decisions respecting staff hire/promotion, work assignment, performance appraisal, discipline, and leave/overtime authorization.& e! d7 |" l! ?

, K. A1 K% p+ S: p0 r1 ]6 r9 ]·         University Degree majoring in accounting or finance, and a Professional Accounting Designation.' m1 j$ d! s' P" Z, S/ D  c* C

·         A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in the financial accounting and reporting field.# _- V1 H& b+ k, I

& k& ?$ A- {$ C·         Experience with complex computerized financial systems. Familiarity with SAP would be advantageous.
