As the Corporate Financial Co-ordinator within the Corporate Accounting and Reporting office of the Finance Branch, you will lead the year-end reporting functions within the City as well as the operating fund corporate accounting, and guide the development of related policy, procedures, and strategies.  This includes:

0 Z8 K# R* a/ P8 c  ~( w  q; \·         Coordinating the completion of the annual consolidated financial statements, the Provincial municipal information return, and other financial reporting for audit.5 h7 `# a6 l1 C

·         Providing advice within the organization and to related Boards and Authorities on options for resolution of financial and reporting issues.

7 I4 w: j. p# B+ N8 f·         Research and coordination for implementation of new professional accounting and reporting requirements for municipalities.

·         Managing a group of professional and administrative staff, in completing ongoing corporate accounting functions.4 p+ Q* l8 b  x

·         Performing the regular and customary managerial functions including decisions respecting staff hire/promotion, work assignment, performance appraisal, discipline, and leave/overtime authorization." i: H1 Z# n; r/ B9 A' P* E+ u

4 p7 \) p% F5 R5 T: D" d- y·         University Degree majoring in accounting or finance, and a Professional Accounting Designation.

·         A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in the financial accounting and reporting field., A: @$ S. U! p& r: o

·         Experience with complex computerized financial systems. Familiarity with SAP would be advantageous.

·         A thorough knowledge of municipal accounting and reporting practices and standards.
