Wow. In edmonton, if we're talking about academics, then it is definitely going to be in the following order; O$ e7 w$ O$ f0 w+ z

' L2 P6 S5 V# x: h; W8 `5 aStrathcona is more known for being a "jock" school - in other words, very athletic. It was also more populated with caucasians... I don't know if that's changed in the last 4/5 years... maybe there are more asians there now? Don't know. " N" y6 Q4 r4 B% o9 w1 c
" I+ ~2 _' ^& K8 Q2 N; h$ l7 AAnyways, besides Strathcona being well known for sports, I have never really heard of it being well known for other attributes... Yes there is an AP program, but as far as I know, IB (as offered by Harry Ainlay) is still more renowned. Also... Harry Ainlay has a french immersion program. :)

3 a' Q2 s# T' ^Vic Comp used to be attractive for "artsy students", but now, the new Lillian Osbourne has taken its ranks for being an artsy school...

$ K% Z7 W9 J% X" x% HOtherwise, I still consider Old Scona and Harry Ainlay some of the better schools around in terms of academics :)

Like I said, I graduated from high school a few years ago, maybe rankings have changed. But when I was in high school, this is what the schools I previously named above were well-known for. Hope this helped! |
