Foreign Ministry spokesman Arye Mekel says a plane is on the way to southern China carrying clothing, medical supplies, generators and tents for victims of the May 12 earthquake.0 x1 _: \0 c2 k" m! h" j" N0 Y
* V2 S, j" S3 L6 w: b; ZMekel estimated the shipment was worth US$1.5 million and said it was due to arrive in China later today.% t* n0 x+ m& |: u1 O

According to Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, "This is the minimum that the State of Israel can do in order to express the friendship between Israel and the Chinese people."
