* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
2 D r) |' I7 x& u+ X * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography) A0 S8 D4 E1 I2 ^$ b9 w
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques3 d! Z9 v& `: i( J% t/ q
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client1 `* e' } j( g2 g; d3 u
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
# H3 w; ]0 w: b. u * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices

Qualifications
+ a2 h* p2 v0 J& {( R+ o, p' n. _4 _0 L! A2 ~7 `) C
* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
# d" c! e+ b* \1 ~& a1 u9 H * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab), @( x& p n4 N8 K/ e4 W
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
. j+ Q+ u% a# _ * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
' j+ r5 K7 c8 ` * Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
