- z d8 }; e: `! x r * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
?0 p$ \5 ?; K) p * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
8 O' X' U0 q' I% ~* Z; d * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
4 p8 A" V" |* N5 {8 ~ * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client+ h6 _0 ?2 I0 m6 e; H. |* d
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
. `" ?/ D7 U, F$ A * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
1 I+ Z' @8 D5 s& _ s * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab

* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)8 \) Z: W2 J C, u

+ f: d# ]8 a; k+ P4 U * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
; |* V. \5 B0 h# ~ * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
. I. f! u9 E9 |/ R" t * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel3 q& Z x" s( q/ v& Z$ l0 m! {
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
