* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
5 g( V. u7 e9 l8 k, G * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities$ f+ Q3 b) r$ x8 Q. U, o* M
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
0 D; x: K( \5 j' {! e/ @ * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat( ]% a5 T0 l, W2 f; j. Q9 |
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders; f5 p4 q* ?3 g3 ]# k" `
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements/ q6 b8 y3 X) Z3 V' w) l& q
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
( N, h1 Y: y7 i * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
% E/ }) a1 \5 B' W4 b% v0 g- ~ * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
2 J% \5 I2 ?$ \6 O( w * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
& o' ~ u! |9 B3 V# X * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset5 l2 m: E" J \, f3 w
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies2 z0 o$ q. s! e" U$ ~
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills% S: y+ k$ l( L9 z% n5 u" G" i
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning+ S4 T c9 X6 J, |# S, k5 D4 k: V
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation): [ W$ T( j" ]/ V/ s! I5 T& b" K6 Z
* Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
