In the first incident, a 30-year-old man is dead in what police are calling a "gang motivated" shooting near Whitemud Drive, the Edmonton Police Service said in a press release./ i/ ]& l. J( ]# ]1 y! a

+ p; h6 S" Z1 q1 QOne male passenger fled from the vehicle before police arrived, and reports indicate a small white car was seen fleeing the scene after the shots were fired.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. MT, officers spotted a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Gateway Boulevard near Whyte Avenue.

' I, J# X% N, }* m% g+ j F' {0 UUpon stopping the car, the officers learned that one of the passengers, a 24-year-old male, was seriously injured., J i" I% e8 J `( e
. i! Q2 n. h# G2 B0 }4 zHe was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.
