) g- [4 w$ J& x# S, j' E& dAmbulance personnel were called to the building at 9023 184 St. at around 4:20 a.m., found the body of a 50-year-old woman inside one of the suites, and called police.

Investigators have not released the cause of death, but are calling the death suspicious.1 s, `6 L" J4 g" X" n4 v
. G( H2 }* u# t2 e4 p4 |Police say the address is known to west division officers, who have responded to the suite several times in the past for family-related disturbances.

Yellow police tape surrounded the entrance to the eight-unit, three-storey tall building as tight-lipped EPS officers walked in and out of the home throughout the day.

A twisted samurai-style sword lay on the ground a few steps from the entrance, the only sign of anything amiss in the quiet complex.3 x, v* x( a7 l0 q# ?8 u) j

: W: `" F; [9 B9 d% \* ]“My granddaughter is 20 and is scared to go out,” Joan Harvey said while visiting her relative yesterday afternoon. “I’m scared for her.”

Ciara Harvey said she wants to move away from the neighbourhood, just blocks away from West Edmonton Mall.

If the death is ruled a homicide, it will be the 29th this year, ahead of 27 this time last year.
