“self-inflicted” has the connotation of creating theunnecessarypain for one self.. k2 {) h0 g0 ~$ d0 e

折腾 in Hu"s speech has a strong connotation that such kindofsetback is self-seeking instead of being due to theinterferencefrom outside.# Y( X" _/ T, O M1 u/ s
- i7 |( k1 X1 X' @ b* V6 z2 j “Setback” is a much better word than “trouble”, whichanunseasoned translator would like to use in the firstinstance.“Setback” especially refers to the obstacle ordifficultyencountered in achieving a strategic goal. |
