3 j8 C1 o. t% G* D t0 PPayment and collection of health care premiums owed prior to January 1, 2009 will continue under these guidelines:

1. All Albertans are responsible to pay premiums unless they qualify for premium assistance, government-sponsored income support programs, or are senior citizens." K. o1 G( u$ j1 J, i, v+ }
2. Employers and benefit administrators who register and pay premiums on behalf of their employees will continue to do so.
6 a1 e' r& v! o+ {! P2 o 3. Alberta Health and Wellness will continue to pursue collections from those who fail to pay premiums.
% z3 O* f& d2 G7 e+ v& m 4. Contributors to Alberta Blue Cross or other supplementary insurance plans that provide prescription drug, dental, and other extended coverage, will still pay those premiums, as they have not been eliminated.2 `& X* z# |4 V' |
5. New Albertans must register for the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan within three months of their arrival. |
