Unlike shares where you will not get your capital gain or lost until you sold your shares, mutual fund would realised it's gain the moment the fund manager dispose off any shares from within, and thus, the capital gain.

Until when you sell of the entire mutual fund (sometimes refers as portfolio), your buying and selling is then calculated against it's ACB and any capital gain you had been taxed upon. |
