A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.* }, }7 ^2 A8 z
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and5 D# e8 M0 S' y) g9 O& t
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.# C' u3 U6 Y% O* ?4 s0 _
The program includes the following elements:- U& ~7 y6 g$ N& I8 ^) A
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
$ W2 y; r9 V0 a* f' u• Standard Child Care First Aid, P+ n. S3 X+ G k! S
• WHMIS+ g" e! x7 ^7 O+ s; v
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care) p: U; [: w. r ?% | _
• Components to improve communication skills
' g! I+ e) Q6 T. P0 u5 S" P6 E• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search1 A, z5 `: A. ]3 ?3 \# n
• Practicum Placements/ h, }* X6 o5 K' x2 \3 t
Eligibility Criteria. h( u& E4 b$ G/ H) K
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
2 S3 ^7 z8 a$ Q9 N5 {of Canada
1 t7 ^$ g9 @# L- X" S7 d2 D• have a Social Insurance Number' @: S2 d& Z/ W4 z7 l1 y
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check0 s& K( E8 s9 D4 X0 _
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
9 e- _- [* X m0 w- `$ M8 M• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time" G5 A: p. Y; C; M" r% b* E! m

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
6 \1 W$ Y' _0 \3 H Cthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:

They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
