A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.- {4 G2 H' p8 w8 t. V4 w ^0 k$ t0 x
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and; j4 \0 z! M* R1 O
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

+ d8 D @, A) P) D6 M7 R• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)5 I3 F7 n( } ^* ^
• Standard Child Care First Aid" d7 B2 b( Z0 T+ ]9 }' D: J8 i
• WHMIS) Y# F0 q( \' P3 t. r
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care5 r# {& _8 F) A2 q% J2 f
• Components to improve communication skills
0 J8 t) q+ ]: k• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search
( E. h8 U% p4 y• Practicum Placements

0 I* }* \! o, I, I• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen! K9 W5 D J( o
of Canada5 A& l' h% \, o0 Q5 O
• have a Social Insurance Number( ^7 T" k" O! x% J5 B% i9 ~
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check6 ]( p% A: R2 u, D8 B! n3 D
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent( g% [ n' q$ g# U" Y/ l! u3 K
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time* i" c8 o$ } ?+ {

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
U- G: W8 p- _the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:, V ~( _, F3 H0 ^% n" T9 b# ]+ k) b( L
• be unemployed or underemployed.
