A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.0 p$ W% T; [9 e7 {$ b5 `
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and% { U5 K2 |+ {* [7 i% q
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.- i* g+ D% n- k1 Q. Q1 l' ]
The program includes the following elements:

% I' g; F( o! \4 L) O8 ~• Standard Child Care First Aid7 N' O8 ^; N5 K8 `8 m' g2 w( E
• WHMIS) A8 t5 @) y- n; M; V( A
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care- @) r* B% I+ k; T
• Components to improve communication skills+ v/ e6 ^/ v) Y, x- x
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search& k" o. i! c6 h) z, l" \% ?
• Practicum Placements

, {5 m0 q+ n* J: v1 S3 ]& D4 m• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen2 y% R& Y' J# ~2 L5 I5 r
of Canada' }: R2 w. \% i) |+ F; {
• have a Social Insurance Number5 I5 v# n& [2 y3 C- U
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check9 c0 J# I. t4 K; H5 _
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
b4 n% U7 w$ j+ \$ v* a• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time% |( G1 H# z8 K; ~1 ]2 h

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
6 w: l5 }4 i! a7 s. wthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:- ~0 i2 W- Y& n+ a
• be unemployed or underemployed.( A6 o" i0 v, q6 g/ @4 c- ^4 E
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course5 e9 Y1 q% Y) M$ F |1 ?2 Z) R
• meet the financial eligibility criteria
