no waiting needed. First of all, make sure you are eligible for landing at Canada Place. If yes, you can just go there on Thursday ONLY,(morning is better). Line-up at the immigration department on the 2nd floor. You might need to wait for half an hour to get to your turn, and it takes about another 20 minutes for landing.
This was just my experience back in 2008 and I am not sure whether all the procedures are still the same or not.

I just booked the landing appointment with Canada Place. Within three weeks. Hope this help~
