3 t n% b, R3 V8 m; Z6 W Snagfilms is established by Ted Leonsis who is the producer of the film Nanking . He was inspired by Iris Chang’s book “The Rape of Nanking, The Forgotten Holocaust of WWII” and produced the film Nanking. He wanted to spread the historical truth and justice for the victims as well as the heroes and heroines of the Nanking Massacre in China in 1937. While producing the film Nanking , Ted Leonsis invented the term “Filmanthropy”. The idea is using films to inspire us to get involved and make a difference in the world. Snagfilms is the product of the idea of “Filmanthropy”.

According to Leonsis, Snagfilms are committed to finding the world‘s most compelling documentaries, and making them available to the wide audience these titles deserve. Snagfilms make it easy to support our filmmakers and the causes their films spotlight.
