FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- j: @, c; z/ w$ Y4 zand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a . S/ S* I# ~2 z4 Y1 y
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ) I, ^3 t9 u6 M) \4 S8 y
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by & O; ?1 _- J& h
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
. e& \9 d* {8 I9 @2 ?: R9 Y- Assist with research on acquisition grants 7 u9 r5 b. {- G! s6 b$ a; p& ^
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
3 E3 `( t# j3 I) V% z- Assist with equipment maintenance $ v7 V5 ]) ]4 X2 U( [( q) j
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
1 k% e1 t9 K0 m' H" u- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 1 u, N' v1 @) m5 M& v; \
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable " s( A, E' F$ Y1 [: h
- Provide vacation relief - O% t W; h8 ^# S* v) O

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
& V0 f# i! f, v* _+ j- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts : w3 E$ W7 J0 @9 U, {3 a) C# `3 n
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
2 d2 ]# Q8 p/ @* o- Advance organizational and research skills R6 n) w- F. b9 N0 U/ U2 u3 ~
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD % c# Y% F- x q# j% V
- Strong team player abilities
