兰花情结

真羡慕你们，我总共养过3盆，现在只剩下一盆2006年的，叶子是越长越小不说，从那儿以后从没开过花，很可怜看着，我也给她施肥（20：20：20），浇水，但不见效，现在放在不直接见光的地方。讨教讨教你们都怎么养的啊？ ...

Phalaenopsis(butterfly orchid) is one of the easiest, wonder how often you fertilize them. You should do that once every ten days at least, it should be placed in a spot with indirect sunlight. If you bought it in 2006, it is time to replace the old planting media with new, otherwise it is too acidic and too much salts(from fertilizer) accumulated, a condition that isn't good for health and growth.The most ideal is to change media once a year(depends on your watering habit/frequency). When it is around flower-budding period, place it in a spot around 11-12 degree C. Cool temperature will stimulate development of flower buds.

May be a bit late, since weekend is over, forget to tell : never use regular potting soil for phalaenopsis, go buy some orchid barks as growing media. They are not terrestrial plants; they won't grow in soil.

Yes, you can buy here. As I posted here before, you can go to the monthly meeting or the annual orchid show of OSA if you are really interested. You will see them there for sale.

not late.try to find soil like old one(like grass), did not find anywhere yet.

If you stick to sphagnum moss ( the thing you said grass like) , try the following store:

All Seasons Garden Centre Inc.
10027-81 Ave.

They carry those from New zealand , which is clean and last longer. If they sold out of that, switch to orchid barks which is good as well, just require a more frequent watering than using moss.

钟情于兰花，始于十几年前的上海首届花卉展。4 ~1 Y* d1 t$ S+ q+ S/ w$ i4 Q$ U
在那鲜花争妍的会展上，我对一盆已开了3株的虎头兰情有独钟。黄色的花，衬上暗红色的边，热情里透着典雅，很是喜爱。毫不犹豫，即刻付了280元人民币，喜滋滋的搬回了家 ...7 [4 |' x0 I8 u! ~; i3 _
